The Patricia Regional Tourist Council maintains a series of websites each targeted to a particular sector of the tourism industry in our vast wilderness area of Canada’s Heartland. The area abounds with winter sports opportunities, with snowmobiling, cross country skiing and ice fishing leading the charge. A limited number of our Lodges and Resorts also offer winter accommodation.

Winter in Red Lake It’s easy to plan to do something while you’re here. You can snowmobile on a well-groomed trail or ask about a trip on some of the backwoods trails the locals use.
Skate indoors on artificial ice or on an outdoor rink with a warm change room. Ski a track trail where you can glimpse a startled rabbit or the snow-covered outline of an abandoned mine.
Winter in Sioux Lookout For snowmobilers there are hundreds of miles of groomed trails that connect Sioux Lookout with northwestern Ontario Communities. Branches of these connecting trails link with snowmobile trail networks throughout Ontario, Manitoba and Minnesota.
Winter in Sturgeon Lake Stugeon Lake is well konwn for its fantstic lake trout fishing as well as the popular walleye and Northern Pike. Winter ice fishing is fun on Sturgeon lake.
