Patricia Region... Your Winter Paradise

By Erin Bureyko

In the depth of Northwestern Ontario, lies a land of vast wilderness, untouched natural beauty, boreal forests and it is sprinkled with small northern towns filled with warm, friendly people. This land is the Patricia Region aka Canada’s Heartland and this region is the largest in Ontario’s Sunset Country.
Patricia Region’s northern towns consist of Red Lake, Balmertown, Cochenour, Ear Falls, Vermilion Bay, Eagle River, Waldhof, Dryden, Wabigoon, Dinorwic, Sioux Lookout, Hudson, Ignace, Savant lake, and Pickle lake.
The winter months in the Patricia Region offer fun and frolic in he snow. Try snowmobiling, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, dog sledding and ice fishing! These activities are plentiful here in Canada’s Heartland - Don’t miss your chance to enjoy them.
You will be mesmerized by the beauty of our region. The thick fresh evergreen forests, the beautiful sunrises and sunsets, the northern lights and our wildlife will take your breath away.
Enjoy snow machining on our groomed trails and endless frozen lakes. On your trip through the bush, you may see rabbits, foxes, wolves, moose, deer, caribou, lynx and bobcats.
You can stop at any one of the towns in our area for great hospitality accompanied by warm and friendly service.
